Sanding Suction Benches for External Filtration

ALWO BA suction benches are downdraught worktables designed for connection to an external extraction and filtration system. Dust is captured close to the sanding surface, reducing particle dispersion into the operator’s breathing zone when the installation is correctly sized and used.

The BA bench does not include the filter or extraction fan. The external system must provide the stated airflow, sufficient negative pressure at the connection and filtration suited to the dust being generated.

Key features

• downdraught capture through the work surface;
• three sizes, with working widths from 1,500 to 2,500 mm;
• required external-system airflow from 2,000 to 4,000 m³/h;
• connection to central ductwork or a dedicated filtration unit.

Safety: the sanded material determines the filter type, capture velocity and protective measures. Combustible dust requires a documented risk assessment and a compliant protection concept; the bench must not be assumed to be suitable for an ATEX zone by default.
