Industrial Filter Cartridges for Dry Dust Collection

Filter Cartridges for Dry Industrial Dust

Filter cartridges are selected around dust type, particle-size distribution, concentration, moisture, temperature, abrasiveness and electrostatic charging risk. Dimensions, sealing and cleaning method must be compatible with the dust collector in which the cartridge is installed.

Filter media and applications

  1. Multilayer cellulose and polyester: for applications such as electrostatic powder coating, abrasive blasting, food processing or chemical production, subject to compatibility checks.
  2. Flame-retardant multilayer cellulose and polyester: for dust and fume generated by plasma, laser or oxy-fuel cutting and welding.
  3. Spunbond polyester: for abrasive dust in food processing, construction materials, pigments and coatings.
  4. Aluminised spunbond polyester: antistatic media that supports dissipation of electrostatic charge.
  5. Spunbond polyester with oleophobic and hydrophobic treatment: for humid air and/or oily particles.
  6. Granular activated carbon: for odour reduction and adsorption of compatible gaseous compounds; it does not replace particulate filtration.

Safety for combustible dust

Flame-retardant media is not non-combustible, and an antistatic cartridge alone does not make a system suitable for an explosive atmosphere. Combustible dust requires assessment of the complete installation, including earthing, housing, explosion relief, isolation and maintenance procedures.

Efficiency class, pressure drop, gasket material and replacement interval are specific to the selected cartridge and operating conditions.
