ALWO Bulk Material Mixing and Homogenisation Bunkers

Bunkers for Mixing, Homogenisation and Intermediate Storage

ALWO material-mixing bunkers are engineered to order for homogenisation, conditioning and buffer-storage stages in production processes. Geometry and volume are adapted to the material, required capacity and the selected filling and discharge methods.

An agitator installed in the lower section keeps the material moving and supports a uniform blend. A separate system automatically discharges the homogenised material to the next process stage.

Engineering inputs

  • bulk density, moisture content and particle-size distribution;
  • tendency to agglomerate, bridge or segregate;
  • required working capacity and homogenisation time;
  • batch or continuous operation and discharge rate;
  • feeding method and interface with downstream equipment;
  • cleaning, access and maintenance requirements.

Safety: the agitator and automatic discharge contain moving parts. Guards, interlocks, emergency stops and lockout procedures are defined in the project. Combustible materials require a separate fire and explosion risk assessment.
