ALWO V Open-Face Dry-Filter Spray Booth

The ALWO V open-face dry-filter spray booth is a modular extraction wall for capturing paint and coating overspray. Its cold-formed galvanised-sheet-steel panels are mechanically assembled, and the wall size is selected according to the coated parts and working area.

Operating principle

A centrifugal fan installed on the roof, behind or beside the extraction wall creates the required negative pressure. Air is drawn from the spraying zone towards the filter face, limiting overspray dispersion when capture velocity and equipment position are correctly designed.

Two dry-filtration stages

  1. Andreae-type labyrinth filter, which captures a significant share of coarse paint and coating particles;
  2. glass-fibre Paint-Stop filter, which retains finer particulate remaining after the first stage.

These stages are intended for overspray particulate, not solvent-vapour removal. Filtered air can be exhausted outdoors according to the project and applicable requirements; VOC reduction may require a separate activated-carbon system sized for the chemical composition, concentration and airflow.

Modular range

The ALWO V range includes extraction walls from 2 to 5 m wide with maximum fan airflow from 7,000 to 20,200 m³/h. Actual operating airflow must account for filters, ductwork, filter loading and the total pressure loss of the installation.

Safety and maintenance

Fan selection, air discharge, earthing, electrical equipment, fire prevention and filter replacement must be defined for the coating products being used. Loaded filters must be handled according to the safety data sheets and applicable regulations.
