ALWO W Open-Face Water-Curtain Spray Booth

The ALWO W open-face water-curtain spray booth is designed to capture paint and coating particles generated during spraying. A fan installed on the roof or beside the unit creates negative pressure and directs air from the working area through the wet-separation system and towards the exhaust.

Wet overspray separation

The front water curtain captures a significant share of the pigment particles. Residual air then passes through three internal wet-scrubbing stages followed by a dry final filter. A submersible pump recirculates the water.

Separated pigment mixes with the water and collects in the system sump. Performance depends on airflow, water-curtain uniformity, pump flow, filter condition and maintenance of the water circuit.

What the system captures

The system is intended primarily for overspray particulate. A water curtain alone is not a solution for removing solvent vapours or VOCs. Air discharge and any additional treatment stages must be sized for the coating products and applicable requirements.

Modular range

The ALWO W range includes extraction walls from 2 to 5 m wide, maximum fan airflow from 7,920 to 19,800 m³/h and recirculating-water flow from 300 to 700 l/min. Actual operating airflow depends on system pressure losses and the required capture velocity.

Operation and safety

Water level and quality, the pump, nozzles, internal passages and final dry stage require periodic inspection. Contaminated water and sludge must be managed according to the safety data sheets and applicable regulations. Electrical equipment, earthing, exhaust and fire-protection measures are selected for the spraying process.
