ALWO participated in BIFE-SIM 2024, where the team presented industrial extraction and surface-finishing solutions for woodworking and furniture production.
Equipment presented at the event
The display included examples of three system concepts:
- a centralised extraction installation combining source connections, ducting, filtration and air movement;
- an extraction wall for surface-finishing operations with process-specific air treatment;
- a local extraction unit for a defined workstation or machine.
The centralised concept illustrated how several woodworking machines can connect to a common filtration station. The extraction-wall concept addressed airborne material from finishing operations, while the local unit demonstrated control close to an individual source. The examples were presented as application concepts; final airflow and equipment selection always depend on the customer’s process.
Technical discussions
Visitors were able to discuss wood dust, sanding, finishing, filter selection, material collection and the difference between local and central extraction. The event also provided an opportunity to review how make-up air and controls interact with production.
Particular attention was given to capturing dust before it spreads through the hall, choosing a collection method for the material load and planning maintenance access around production equipment.
