Horizontal Cyclones for Inline Ductwork Installation

Horizontal cyclones are compact inertial separators designed for inline installation in ductwork and for removing medium- and coarse-sized particles from contaminated air streams. The swirling motion separates the particles from the air, and the collected material is discharged through the lower section.

Separation performance depends on particle size and density, airflow, material concentration and system configuration. These cyclones are intended primarily for medium and coarse particles; their effectiveness on fine dust is limited.

The horizontal arrangement allows the equipment to be integrated into routes where space or system geometry does not permit a vertical cyclone. Standard construction is galvanized steel; stainless steel can be used for corrosive environments or special requirements.

The cyclone acts as a pre-separator upstream of final filtration and does not replace a high-efficiency filter for fine dust. The model is selected according to airflow, particle properties, the allowable pressure drop and material discharge. For combustible dust, the configuration is selected on the basis of a fire and explosion risk assessment.
